Pulse points and aromatherapy
Pulse points roll-ons are a great way to use aromatherapy and apply essential oils. But what are pulse points and why are they effective? Where are pulse points located on the body?
The human body has seven main pulse points. Located all around the body – from the side of the neck to the ankle, they are the points where our arteries run close to the skin. These pulse points are found on your: temples, neck, chest, inner elbow, wrists, back of the knees and ankles. The four pulse points that we particularly love for applying essential oils are: temples, behind the ears, side of the neck and inner wrists.

Why are pulse points effective?
Aromatherapy is most effective when focusing on pulse points. This is because as blood is flowing close to the surface of the skin, applying essential oils to these points means they can filter into the bloodstream quickly. Each person can have a preference for which one (or more!) they like to use in aiding effective relaxation.
We always recommend blending pure essential oils with carrier oils, such as sweet almond, grapeseed oil or jojoba oil, before applying to the skin. Applying a blend of essential oils on your pulse points supercharges the speed that you reap the benefits – be it deeply calming, grounding or energy-boosting . Our body also takes in essential oils via our respiratory system too, that’s why inhaling the aroma just after you’ve applied and essential oil product is such a powerful thing to do.
